Warren Kinsella really is such a bore
I'm not sure how you get through law school with such poor reading comprehension skills. Minor Canuck progressive bloggers and their lemming-like stupidity, I can understand and even pity. But really.
I've updated the original "offensive" post in response.
It really is sad that pointing out that black people are a) black and b) are just as capable of being stupid, shallow and tribalist as any other group of people is actually an offensive, radical idea these days, and not what it actually is: a pretty shrug-worthy observation based on the evidence of our senses and experience.
Actually, that's not even true. The funny thing is, I've received no negative feedback for this post, since I made these observations here and at Kate's. I braced myself but it only came from Blahgbert & Co., who don't count ("She's ugly and needs to get laid" is not an argument). No emails, no nasty comments at Kates.
Maybe I'm the new mainstream, huh Warren? Maybe people have matured beyond the point where they feel socially obliged to treat blacks or any other race as some sort of "protected species" in the Disney movie of their lives (movies in which we/Warren are the Wonderful White People to the Rescue in a weird sort of reverse colonialism) and instead treat them like -- shock -- human beings capable of making dubious decisions, having lame opinions and being able to take criticism for same.
Speaking of criticism: I'd be impressed and possibly even delighted if all the Kathy haters would at least mount actual counterarguments to my observations. Instead, they just quote me verbatim, huff and puff, toss in the word "racist" (the modern day version of "Burn the witch!") and hit "post". If that's the best you can manage, it says more about the paucity of your dearly held beliefs and easily hurt feelings than it does about my candid, albeit "shocking" opinions.
Most people have funny ideas of what it means to be "Christian." For Warren & Co, it has something to do with being meek and mild and never daring to criticise anyone in general and all those protected groups in particular. But Catholics are obliged to perform such Acts of Mercy as Instructing the Ignorant and Admonishing the Sinner. It ain't all puppy dogs & lollipops here in Jesusland, folks.
But hey man, thanks for all the hits! Too bad all of the above will probably be too hard for you to understand.
UPDATE: (Monday a.m.) Over 1,000 people have come here from Kinsella's, of which exactly zero have followed his orders to "denounce" me. No emails, nada. Heh.
