Barack Obama for Spelling Bee Champ!
That's what he reminds me of: a polite, earnest young fellow who's not quite as smart as he's been led to believe, and is too young to be trusted with anything super important. Maybe in ten years... But President, or one bullet or coronary away from the top job? Just to "make a statement"? What grade are you in?
Black, stupid or both: that's your only excuse for getting excited about Barack Obama. And they're pretty lame excuses. "He's so well spoken!" "He's so handsome." You sound like my grandma. Why not toss in "He's a credit to his race!" while you're at it? (PS: white guilt counts as "stupid").
I don't even see the alleged "charisma". RFK possessed genuine charisma. Women tore off his shirts and ties so often his aides carried plenty of extras. Trudeau wrecked the country but "he haunts us still" and that's charisma. I suppose "charisma" is just another word that's been leeched of its meaning. Only shallow people cite "charisma" as a presidential must-have, anyway.
I'll be repeating this a lot during the next few years, so get used to it: there is nothing "compelling" about a black man impregnating a white woman. In more than one Toronto neighbourhood, that's what they call "Saturday night."

UPDATE: Dear me. I know Kinsella's slow on the uptake, but really. Everyone's already called me a "racist" over this post, last week. Try to keep up. Let me explain it to you very carefully, using simple words even you and your readers can understand: we are assured by the mainstream media on a daily basis that Mr. Obama has "a compelling life story." Having reviewed said life story, I detect nothing particularly "compelling" about it. True, it is very exotic in some respects, but I've heard better. And if the biggest selling point Obama has to most voters is that he is half-black, that doesn't speak very well of them.
I listen to US talk radio every day. Every day, callers both black and white say they will vote for Obama because "it is time for an African American president". When asked about Obama's policies on domestic or foreign affairs, they admit to being either clueless or uninterested. He is "black" and that is all they care about, especially the black callers.
I think I was rather nice in merely calling those people "stupid". I should have called them "racist." They are the real racists, not me for merely stating the obvious but unpleasant fact that Mr. Obama is an empty suit at best and a smooth talking socialist at worst.
As usual, all Warren can do is reach way into his little bag of adjectives and duly express his card-carrying liberal, Establishment lackie disgust at someone who dares to have an original, "unspeakable" thought.
Everytime I annoy him, it merely confirms my belief that I'm on the right track. Sheesh, the guy probably even believes in recycling...
